PRODUCT INFO
Originally, this Seiffen company was founded in 1928 by Christian Ulbricht's father, Otto. Otto Ulbricht used innovative new techniques to create beautiful, handmade toys and wooden objects. In 1936he received a gold medal of the Paris World's Fair for the designs of his childrens' clocks. But after the Second World War his East German company was expropriated by the new communist government. Th family had to flee to the West and the company temporarily closed. Otto did not give up and he founded a new company in Lauingen on the Danube to continue his art. Then in 1968 Christian Ulbricht took over the management of the company. Once Germany was reunified he bought back the old comapny in Seiffen and so for over 30 years the traditional handicraft of his father continues again in it's Erzgebirgische homeland. .
